Educational and Administrative Consultant : Career and Technical Education
(STEM Interim)

Duties performed:
 

  • Provided staff development and technical assistance related to increased student achievement for ESC-20 school districts in the areas of career and technical education, workforce development, federal compliance, and advanced academics, to include industry-based credentialing and work-based learning

  • Participated and engaged in learning experiences that enhance job knowledge and skills, and that build capacity in program areas and partnering programs

  • Functioned as a liaison for center efforts in the areas related to career and technical education and worked with other staff to meet the goal of improving student achievement in career and technical education programs, instructional methodology, and strategies for at-risk populations, integration of academic and career and technical education, state and federal accountability systems

  • Provided training to district personnel that meets state mandates (TEKS) and is coordinated with the establishment of rigorous curriculum standards

  • Provided training and technical assistance to schools/districts that assists in helping students make successful transitions from school to college, to career, to the military, and to lifelong learning

  • Designed, developed, and delivered staff development for school improvement

  • Served as a liaison between clients and community resources/stakeholders and state and federal agencies

  • Monitored and evaluated CTE program effectiveness for LEAs 

  • Identified and used technology that supports instructional programs

  • Worked cooperatively with Superintendents, CTE Directors, Curriculum Directors, and Campus Leaders in all ESC-20 school districts and charter schools to develop, implement, evaluate, and guarantee compliance

  • Developed marketing strategies for products, services, and programs that reflect data-driven decisions

  • Created, planned, and provided staff development for CTE Teachers, Counselors, Administrators, and other appropriate stakeholders related to CTE

  • Disseminated information regarding CTE, current research and significant developments on the state and national levels in area assigned to Counselors, CTE Administrators and District Leadership related to non-discrimination, equity, CTE program development, implementation and evaluation

  • Demonstrated the use of sound judgement and ingenuity in problem solving to meet the needs of the ESC and clients served

  • Built professional relationships with colleagues and clients, maintaining regular and continuing interaction, in meeting shared outcomes

  • Participated in development, preparation, and administration of the budget for supplies, equipment, and facilities in area of assignment

  • Oversaw federal Perkins implementation and use of Title III, Part A and Part B funds

  • Coordinated the use of Title III SSA members’ expenditures

 

The work performed at ESC20 is focused on providing regional leadership, technical assistance, workforce development,  and staff development to districts in implementing quality career and technical education programs. As a consultant, I provided staff development and technical assistance related to increased student achievement for ESC-20 school districts in the areas of career and technical education, federal compliance, and gender equity. I frequently presented at statewide conferences, served on various CTE advisory committees, and I served as a liaison for center efforts in all areas related to career and technical education and worked with other staff to meet the goal of improving student achievement and promoting partnerships that created pipelines to careers for students.
