Career and Technical Education Specialist

​Duties Include:

  • Serve on a team that develops and creates CTE content for the Texas Education Agency, such as:

    • Administrator Training 

    • Counselor Training 

    • Career and Technical Education Guidebooks  (CTE) to accompany various training modules

    • CTE 101 (now hosted on TEA Learn)

    • CTE 102 (in progress)   

    • CTE Program of Study Frameworks Documents

    • CTE Toolkits

      • Advanced Academics

      • Advisory Committees

      • Program of Study Implementation Guides

    • Career Cluster Planning Guides​

    • Texas Education Agency State Plan

    • Various Focus Study Groups

    • Statewide Federal Program Monitoring

  • Regularly present at statewide conferences to promote training and resources created by Resources for Learning for the Texas Education Agency

    • College & Career Readiness School Models (CCRSM) 

    • SkillsUSA

    • Family and Consumer Science Teachers Association of Texas (FCSTAT)

The work performed with RFL includes planning, creating, writing, editing, formatting, and project management. Furthermore, regularly scheduled meetings occur with the Texas Education Agency (TEA) members to collaboratively plan and generate content intended for statewide implementation. These discussions involve Education Service Center Specialists and Consultants, as well as contributions to the TEA website.
